Printify vs Printful: One Parent Company, Two Different Price Lists

The short answer

They announced their merger on 5 November 2024, so this is not a trust question. Printful publishes one price per product and one shipping table. Printify prints nothing itself and routes your order to one of 69 third-party shops, where cost and delivery follow the shop.

Check these five before you sign up

  • Order the same shirt from both before you commit a product line. The published base prices are starting prices for the smallest size with one print.
  • On Printify, open the rate sheet for the exact provider your product is assigned to. There is no site-wide shipping table to fall back on.
  • Two hoodies in different Printify categories bill as two first items, not one plus a discounted extra. Check the multi-item rule against your average basket.
  • If your yearly Printful sales are near $12,000, the Growth plan turns free for a year. Worth timing.
  • Read the not-a-defect list on Printify before you promise customers anything about print placement.

The short answer

Printify and Printful belong to the same company. The merger was announced on 5 November 2024 in Printful's own newsroom, worded as joining forces as equal partners, with both brands kept running as they were. Today the two sit under one parent, FYUL. Whichever of them you sign up with, the money ends up in the same building.

So the useful question isn't which company to trust. It's which structure fits what you sell.

Printful prints in factories it owns. One published price per product, one shipping table for the whole catalogue. Printify prints nothing at all. It hands your order to one of 69 third-party shops, and the base cost, the shipping charge, the delivery window and the print quality all follow whichever shop takes the job.

One detail says it better than a feature list. Printful appears as a print provider inside Printify's own network, filed under worldwide fulfilment. Choose either brand, and on some orders the same factory prints the same shirt.

What the subscriptions cost

PrintifyPrintful
Free plan$0/month, 5 stores per account, unlimited designs$0/month, 547 custom products, unlimited stores plus 10 Quick Stores
Paid planPremium, from $39/month, or from $24.99/month billed yearly, 10 storesGrowth, $24.99/month
Free upgrade routeNone publishedGrowth free for a whole year once yearly sales reach $12,000

Read the word "From" in front of Printify's $39. It's doing work, because Premium is priced per currency and the monthly figure is a floor, not a flat rate.

The comparison people usually botch is the annual one. Printify's yearly billing brings Premium down to the same $24.99 a month that Printful charges for Growth month to month, and Printful's help centre describes Growth as a rolling monthly subscription with no annual prepay to lock. Printify's page marks the yearly saving at 36 percent against its own monthly price, which is arithmetic you can check in a second.

Then there's the threshold. Sell $12,000 in a year through Printful and Growth costs nothing for the next twelve months. Printful measures that as order value minus discounts, shipping, taxes and extra fees, and you have to subscribe yourself, since it doesn't switch on automatically.

The same shirt, three different prices

Take the Bella+Canvas 3001, the default blank in this business.

Printful's product page carries one machine-readable price: $11.25. Smallest size, one print, shipping not included.

Printify's answer depends on which Printify page you open. The custom t-shirts page works through an example at $10.98. The profit calculator on the pricing page uses $8.77 for the same garment class. Neither one names a print provider or a size, and Printify's costs genuinely differ from shop to shop.

So anyone telling you Printify wins this shirt by 27 cents is reading a marketing example as a price list. Printify's own two figures for that shirt are $2.21 apart. Both numbers move up at 2XL and above, and again for prints on the sleeve, the back or the neck label.

Shipping: one table against seventy-one spreadsheets

Printful publishes a single flat table sorted by product category and region. Shirts cost $4.95 for the first item in the US and $2.20 for each additional one, $4.99 and $1.45 in Europe, $4.79 and $1.50 in the UK, $8.59 and $1.95 in Canada, $7.99 and $1.40 to Australia and New Zealand, $4.95 and $2.00 to Japan, $12.49 and $6.00 worldwide. Hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers ship for $8.79 in the US, $2.50 per extra item. Production takes 2-5 business days, then 3-4 more for US and Canadian flat rate delivery, or 5-20 internationally. Orders containing hats, mugs, posters or canvases split into multiple parcels and cost more. Nothing ships to Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Ecuador or the occupied Ukrainian regions.

Printify has no equivalent table, because it has no single supplier. Every provider publishes its own sheet. SwiftPOD, one of those US providers, charges $4.95 for the first jersey tee and $2.40 for each extra on standard shipping at 2-5 days, or $4.49 and $2.09 on economy at 4-8 days. Its international sheet, size L on standard: Canada $9.69 plus $4.39 per extra item, Australia $12.99 plus $4.99, European countries $13.49 plus $4.00, rest of the world $10.39 plus $4.00, every one of them quoted at 10-30 days. Europe carries an extra $3.50. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico take 7-12 business days.

The first US shirt costs $4.95 either way. The second costs twenty cents more through Printify. And Printify's discounted additional-item rate only applies when the items are the same product type from the same provider, so a men's hoodie and a kids' hoodie in one order bill as two first items rather than one plus an extra.

Who prints it, and where

Printful runs seven in-house fulfilment centres across Europe and North America, backed by partner facilities in Brazil, Japan and Australia. Its help centre lists them with street addresses: Riga, Barcelona, Birmingham (the address itself sits in Wolverhampton), Charlotte, Coppell, Tijuana and Mississauga. You can't hand-pick the one that prints your order, although store settings do let you opt out of backup facilities.

Printify owns none of its production. Its public directory publishes 71 rate sheets, two of which are Printify's own routing services rather than outside shops, leaving 69 third-party providers spread across the US, China, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Australia, India, Mexico and the Netherlands.

Worth knowing before you quote a network size to anyone: Printify's pricing page advertises 90+ print providers while its own directory publishes 71 rate sheets. Both pages were live on 6 September 2026.

Reprints and the fine print around them

Both give you 30 days, both ask for a photo, and neither wants the item posted back.

Printify handles it through "Submit issue" in Orders: a free reprint or a refund inside 30 days of delivery. Refunds land in your Printify account balance, which you can withdraw. If your billing currency isn't USD, the money goes back to the original payment source instead. Failed delivery is treated differently again - a reprint at extra charge, or a partial refund. Printify also publishes a hard number: a 0.5 inch tolerance on DTG print placement. A companion article lists what doesn't count as a defect at all, including embroidery stitch density variation, visible backing, simplified fine detail, and faint odour or pre-treatment residue on fresh DTG prints.

Printful covers damaged, defective, misprinted and lost-in-transit orders with a free reshipment or a refund, and its returns article runs the same 30-day clock from delivery, or from estimated delivery when a parcel vanishes. Refunds default to the Printful Wallet. What isn't covered: the wrong size or colour ordered, a change of mind, and an address your customer typed wrong, though Printful will reship that one if you pay the shipping again. Brazil gets an extra seven-day right to regret. Parcels that come back and sit unclaimed for 30 days are donated.

Both sets of terms are where print-on-demand margins quietly leak. Printify's exclusions are the more specific of the two, which cuts both ways: harder to argue with, easier to plan around.

So, which one

Take Printful if you're selling shirts and hoodies at a steady clip. One shipping number to memorise, one factory network to hold responsible, and the plan turns free at $12,000 in sales. Any premium over Printify's floor price is the cost of not managing suppliers.

Printify is the other bargain. You go in for a low base cost and a choice of shops, then pay for it in homework: samples to order, rate sheets to read, providers to compare. Whether it actually undercuts Printful depends on the garment and on which shop your order lands in. It isn't the flat 27 cents a comparison table implies.
